Omnivorous fishes mostly from Australia & New Zealand.  They are related to chubs and have been confused with butterflyfishes.

Rare in calm murky bays and inshore waters of Hawaii.  May form aggregations during the day under ledges.  Attains 6 inches.  Antitropical from Hawaii, Japan, China, Australia, and New Caledonia.
