Fairly common but wary species of deep lagoons and reef dropoffs to 130 feet.  Feeds upon coral polyps.  Black scales have light centers, white scales have dark spot and edge, anal fin black & white, continuous black bar on face.  Attains 12 inches.  Andaman Sea to Southern Japan and Samoa.
