Pairs are common on coral reefs to 100 feet.  Grazes upon coral tissue.  Attains 8 inches.  Sri Lanka to Japan, Hawai'i, the Marquesas, and Rapa.  Chaetodon meyeri of the Indo-Pacific has black diagonal stripes.
