 BLACK-BACKED BUTTERFLYFISH    Akebono-chochouo

Common as pair on coral reefs to at least 50 feet.  Feeds upon hard and soft coral polyps.  Attains 7 inches.  Chaetodon ocellicaudus lacks black area on back, spot on peduncle surrounded with yellow.  Red Sea to Japan, east to Samoa.
