| Common alone or in small groups on Indo-Pacific reefs to 100 feet, but
extremely rare in Hawai‘i. Distinctive black outer border on anal
fin. Feeds upon benthic invertebrates, coral polyps, and
filamentous algae. Attains 5 inches. East Africa to Japan,
Hawai‘i, and the Marquesas. |
