Osezaki, Japan

This little bay on the northwest tip of the Izu Peninsula is probably the most popular dive resort on the  entire island of Honshu.  Several dive shops and inns line the wide sandy beach facing north with a great view of Mt. Fuji.  The western point is a narrow finger of boulders with access to deep water.  Osezaki has more rare and unusual critters than anywhere else.  The calm waters of the bay are ideal for certification dives but we love it for muck diving.  The tip of the point features large soft corals and sea whips surrounded by Sakura anthias and Joyner's rockfish.
