BC FISHES

BC MARINE LIFE

Diving along Canada's west coast is a treat for animal lovers as long as you don't mind very cold water!  The nutrient-rich waters of the Northeast Pacific support an enormous amount of life from tiny phytoplankton to Humpback and Gray Whales and everything in between.  In short, you'll see lots of everything, growing bigger than anywhere else.

Surfing is possible and actually very good if you have a thick wetsuit and don't mind driving several hours from Victoria.  When the swell and wind is right there are many quality spots to check out from beackbreaks to classic rivermouths and the crowds are nothing compared to Hawaii.
