 DENSE FEATHERY BLACK CORAL

This shrubby species has clusters of pinnate, or feather-like, branches in a single plane.  Common at select sites in deeper water.  Orange, brown or white.  Occasionally used for jewelry.  Hawaii & Japan.  Also known as Antipathes ulex.
